4x5 Polaroids

The Polaroid Corporation donated film to artists and photographers. David Haxton made approximately 400 4x5 polaroids with the film. For the most part these photographs served as tests for the final exposure of the photograph. The final exposure was made using 4x5 negative film in a Sinar Camera. The negatives were then enlarged and printed on 24 x 32 inch (61 x 82 cm) paper. In some cases there were several tests made before the final exposure was made. In other cases there was no final exposure made and the Polaroid is the only record of that set.
